“Southern Fried Faith” began somewhere around 2011 in response to other bloggers seeking to unnecessarily further divide Southern Baptists over doctrinal issues that the Baptist Faith and Message address perfectly well. Those other bloggers wouldn’t post my comments, so I started putting them here. So, “Southern” because of “Southern Baptists,” “Fried” because of the complete disregard for having a gospel-centered conversation about faith and culture issues, and “Faith” because most of what is written about relates to Jesus.
Over time, the blog has evolved into an analysis of faith and culture, particularly the southern culture. My goal is to bring gospel-centered insight and sound biblical exposition to issues in the church in the south in an accessible and helpful way.
